MacTarnahan's Amber Ale

Solid amber I found at Pyramid Brewery in Berkeley. The bartender was telling me that Pyramid had bought out MacTarnahan's, a brewery in Portland Oregon. The amber was delicious. It had good hops, a full malty body, and just the right amount of carbonation without overwhelming you. It also made a great accessory to Pyramid's awesome mega-nachos.

Warning: Don't get the amber that's nitrous carbonated. It's not nearly as good. It just tastes flat and boring in comparison.

Trader Joe's Vienna Style Amber Ale

Pretty label, cheap price ($6 for 6), but doesn't taste like much. I'd skip it.

Mission St. Brown Ale

A good deal at $2 for a 22oz, but I really didn't like it. There was a good amount of flavor, but it just didn't happen to be good flavor. For once, I actually preferred this brewery's hef rather than their brown ale.

Pilsner Urquell

Surprisingly bitter for such a light beer. I flip-flop between liking and disliking it. It has a really crisp refreshing feel to it, but I just can't find a good situation where I'd drink it. It's not bad, but not a regular for me.

New Belgium Skinny Dip

I didn't see what style of beer this was, but it was really light. Served chill, I had a six-pack while watching the world cup game between Brazil and Ivory Coast. Shitty game, but not a bad beer to go with salty foods - pretzels, chips + salsa. I'd definitely get it again.

Mission St. Hefeweizen

Delicious 22oz bottle from Trader Joe's. I'm usually not a fan of hef's, but this one had more flavor than usual. It's also a pretty dark golden color. Great to share with a friend at a BBQ.
